Join us for a series of immersive, six-week workshops exploring diverse artistic techniques. Each program culminates in a group exhibition, celebrating creativity as a source of inspiration, healing, and community connection.
Hosted in partnership with Rockella Space and the RRASP community.
Our workshops welcome adults, older adults, students, teens and people with disabilities.
No prior art experience needed, just a love for creativity!
Each class is designed to be stress relieving and relaxing. Join us to learn a new skill or refine existing ones. Our workshops are a creative outlet for self-expression and to connect with like-minded people from the community.

REVIVING THE RENAISSANCE
12 Sessions (Twice a week x 6 weeks) From Oct. 13th to Nov 22nd. 2025
Weekdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Saturdays from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm or from 1:30 to 4:00 pm
In this six-week workshop, students will immerse in the renaissance technique to explore the foundations of classical drawing and painting, developing the skills needed to create artwork with depth, realism, and luminosity as the old masters.
We’ll explore the art of realistic drawing, the application of chiaroscuro and monochromatic base (grisaille). Finally, students will apply transparent layers of oil glazes to enrich their paintings with color, depth, and brilliance.
By the end of the program, each student will complete a finished classical painting, experiencing firsthand the techniques that shaped some of history’s greatest masterpieces.
This workshop is open to beginners as well as more experienced artists who wish to deepen their understanding of traditional techniques.
The final paintings will participate in a group exhibition.

FROM SKETCH TO STITCH: CREATE YOUR OWN GARMENT
12 Sessions (Twice a week x 6 weeks) From Oct. 13th to Nov 20th. 2025
Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will design and create a garment from start to finish. Students will learn the essentials of fashion design and construction, including sketching ideas, choosing fabrics, and drafting or adapting patterns. The workshop will cover both hand sewing and machine techniques, guiding the participant through each step until they have a wearable final piece.

MANGA LAB
12 Sessions (Twice a week x 6 weeks) From Oct. 14th to Nov 21st. 2025
Tuesdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
In this immersive 6-week course, participants will learn everything from character design to complete inking of your final project. We’ll explore different techniques, develop a storyboard, and learn how to create a story timeline for easier reading. No experience is required, students will be guided on the basic anatomy and architecture of the manga style in order to create their own story.
The final projects will participate in a group exhibition.

WATERCOLOR PORTFOLIO WORKSHOP

This six-week workshop invites students to dive into the expressive and versatile world of watercolor painting. Guided step by step, participants will build a strong foundation in technique, explore a variety of subjects, and develop their own artistic voice. By the end of the program, each student will have a cohesive collection of works ready to be presented in a group exhibition.

FIGURE DRAWING FOUNDATIONS:
Anatomy for beginners
12 Sessions (Twice a week x 6 weeks) From Oct. 13th to Nov 22nd. 2025

This six-week workshop is the perfect introduction to artistic anatomy for those who want to improve their figure drawing skills. No previous experience is required. Through simple step-by-step exercises, students will learn the basic structures of the body, proportions, and how to capture natural poses.
As a basic program we won’t be using live human models but sculptures and reference images as guide. At the end of the program students will have a solid base of human body proportions.

Note: The registration form is only to reserve your participation to the workshops. You can make the payment in person or online at your convenience by card, cash or checks payable to New Renaissance Arts Center of NY.
DISCLAIMER OF SERVICES
– Participants can conserve their projects while in progress at the New Renaissance Arts Center (NRAC) under their own responsibility. NRAC is not responsible for the integrity of the projects (in progress or finished) and will dispose of them after 4 weeks of non-notified absence of the participant.
– Each participant is responsible for their materials and belongings.
– Due to limited storage space, participant’s supplies and materials cannot be stored at NRAC.
– Respectful behavior towards the people and facility must be present at all time.
– Paid sessions can be recovered only with advance notice of absence.
